Using Telomerase Supplements to Stop Aging
As research goes on in the area of anti-aging, new theories come about on what might be good to do, or to take, in order to slow down or even reverse the aging process. These theories then lead to companies making any number of different supplements that you can take in order to try to stay young. One of the newer types of supplements available is the telomerase supplement.
There are a number of companies out there now that make telomerase supplements. These are marketed in a few different ways. Some of the supplements say that they will turn back the clock so that you will start to look and feel younger, while others claim that they will help to activate telomerase in your system in order to help prevent further aging. There are even supplements that they warn you not to take at the same time since they are said to inhibit telomerase and would cancel out the effects of these supplements.
As with any type of supplement, you should consult your doctor before taking telomerase supplements. You should also do some research to find out which supplement is considered to be the most effective with the least side effects. Checking out product reviews on websites that are not affiliated with any of these products can give you an idea of whether or not they will be worth the money. As of right now there haven’t been clinical studies that showed the effectiveness of this type of supplement in humans, so you should keep this in mind.
So just how are telomerase supplements supposed to help you stay young? Well, there are these things called telomeres on the end of the DNA for the various cells in your body, and each time the cells divide or replicate, these telomeres are shortened. Eventually they stop dividing, and this is when the effects of aging due to this process are said to start. Of course this isn’t the only thing that contributes to aging, but it is said to be one factor that makes a difference in how you age. Theoretically, if you use a supplement to keep those telomeres active for longer you will stay young for longer.
