Document the early symptoms of lyme disease
If you have spent time or are spending time in an area where lyme disease is present there is always the possibility that this disease can effect you and have you displaying the early symptoms of lyme disease. This is more so the case if you have dogs or spend prolonged periods of time outside in places where ticks can be found such as woodland, grassland, heath land and forests.
You will not always know whether you have been bitten by a tick as these little critters can be as small as a pin head so they will often go unnoticed when you using you for a daily feed. With this being the case it is vital to be extra vigilant and check yourself for any rashes as the most common of the early symptoms of lyme disease is a rash with quite unique characteristics.
The rash has a small red centre which is the site of the tick bite and around this is a ring of clear skin. Around this outer ring is where the main thick rash begins and spreads out. This rash can appear anywhere from a few days to a week after the bite occurred and it can last for anywhere up to a month. However it is possible for the rash to disappear quite quickly and this can happen before you get a chance to have yourself checked out by a doctor.
By taking a picture of the rash you can rest assured that by showing your doctor you have the best chance of an accurate diagnosis as they will be able to tell whether this is the same rash that is associated with the early symptoms of lyme disease whether you have prompted them to think so or not.
