Calgary – The Running on a Treadmill City
My running partner Sam and I love it now that it is spring.My favorite running is when it is sunny outside.I like working out in a gym – the busyness of it all inspires me.Treadmills offer the television option.We both started running about two years ago.I couldn’t believe that I started packing on the pounds when I hit thirty.Weight lifting on its own is not enough for me – I do lots of cardio now.What a joke it is now that I have to actually watch what I eat.Choose a workout objective so you have something to strive for.It’s a shocker to suddenly gain weight and be out of shape.Once I wheezed climbing stairs, I started walking regularly.Walking is a fabulous way to start a jogging program.So, I started jogging parts of my walks – even when using a treadmill in Calgary.Once I started running I never looked back.Muscle memory in my legs was the point where my jogging took off.I’ve never raced but am really interested in training for a race.I love running outside, but treadmills sure allow me to run my 3 runs each week – and I can tell you I sure did my homework by reading the treadmill buying guide before purchasing a treadmill.The absolute best running is on trails in a park in the sun with a partner.As I write this it is too early for me to run – I am an afternoon runner.Do you run trails? Do you like it?If you have to drive to a trail and you want an incline run, get a treadmill. Uphill running is extremely challenging.I’ve ran about 90 minutes straight – a far cry from an ultra marathon.This summer I’ll start cycling after runs – but my focus in the winter is my treadmill in Calgary.I think it would be cool if I became competent at both running and cycling.I’m totally immersed into a healthy lifestyle now and am even looking to running and cycling focused vacations.
