Each day 30,000,000,000,000 or more people drive cars all over the world. They don’t have any problem doing this; they just get into their car and drive to wherever they need to go. Unfortunately there are some other people in the world who would find it extremely difficult to do the same thing. The fear of driving is very real for many and it is no joke.

Can you imagine what it would be like being nervous with just the thought of getting into your car? For many of the people who have a fear of driving being behind the wheel or even just the thought of it can be enough to give them a panic attack. Imagine not even starting the engine and already being bathed in sweat, feeling dizzy and almost blacking out. This and other symptoms are what sufferer’s experience. It can make life quite inconvenient since they have to rely on other people to help them get around or take some form of public transportation.

For those people who suffer from this and no longer want to live this kind of life, they should know that it is possible to overcome fear of driving.  The good news is that you can actually do this on your own if you have enough courage to do so.

Start of by first trying to visualize yourself in a car behind the wheel. If you feel a bit of anxiety of tension try thinking about something positive. You can also use breathing techniques to help calm yourself down. Next you can perhaps try sitting in the car with the engine off. Eventually you can try starting the engine and moving it out. Take things one step at a time until you are able to finally drive for real on the road.
