Cheap Books Equals Big Savings
I don’t feel books are cheap, but cheap books equal big savings for me. Cheap prices on good books are the best thing I have found since peanut butter. Anyone who enjoys reading should always look for discounted, cheap books for their enjoyment. I cringe when I see the prices on new books in the stores. Sure they may be worth it, but I enjoy a cheap book just the same, if not better, because I paid less. Books have a true value by how many people actually enjoy them, not buy how many people buy them to stick up on a shelf. Discounted cheap books have been read over and over again and are passed on to someone else for them to enjoy.
Collectors look at cheap books in a different way. They may have bought a signed first edition of a special book for $2000, but the book is worth $5000. That is cheap to them, but the book is then only for show, rarely even read. Books need to be enjoyed, and not displayed as status symbols. The collector did save big on this cheap book, but far out of most of our reaches.
People are saying that books are becoming a thing of the past. Well if this is true, buy cheap books and keep a part of our past alive. This will not be a consideration of price, but to save a cherished part of the family unit and quality time that was once shared. Where are we headed, if books are no longer needed? This is a question that I really don’t want to know the answer to.
Buying cheap books will save you a lot of money through the years, but will also keep us enjoying the simple pleasure of reading. Children’s books fill the local resale store shelves. I have purchased full collections for my Grandchildren, so we can share quality time and share an adventure together. I love to see children play the part of their favorite character from the book, this let’s their imaginations run wild. That is what children should get out of a good cheap book, an adventure.
